I am writing to you to thank you and through you to thank your entire staff for the most compassionate, humane, respectful and highly professional care afforded to my mother, Lillian.
After each of my visits to my mother, it was obvious that our family made the best choice in meeting her health needs.
Please know that I am a retired member of the New York State Department of Health. I share this with you so you may understand my perspective. For many years I led survey teams comprised of RNs, physicians, social workers, dieticians, pharmacists and environmentalists that were engaged in evaluating hospitals, long term care facilities, and the great variety of ambulatory care entities in relationship to federal and state regulatory requirements.
Whenever I enter a health care facility I can’t help but look at conditions and staff through my former professional lens. I must say that I was overwhelmed with the apparent devotion to the highest principles of care.
I would be remiss if I did not especially mention our sincere thanks and gratitude to Nurse McNelis who gave our mother and our family great comfort and to us, welcome guidance. Thank you.
Two words say is all, thank you. However, I would remiss if I did not elaborate and share my thoughts with you.
I will not mention names for fear I would forget someone. That said, I would like you to know your staff from housekeeping to nurses and therapy performed their tasks with dispatch and one thing in mind…the patient.
I have been to the Elms several times visiting friends who always told me the service your staff performs. Now I am one who has benefited by that service. Perhaps just calling it a service does the Elms a disservice.
The aide staff were there checking on me frequently. If I needed assistance they walked me to the dining room or sitting room. They even took a few minutes to talk to me. Needless to say the nursing staff were likewise there if needed for more than my medication. The food service group was there if I had a question or changed an order.
One person I call your attention to was Tess the Therapist who worked with me twice a day. She was understanding and compassionate always having my welfare in mind. Her professionalism was illustrated and practiced every day. In my opinion, I would not have progressed without her watchful eye. She is truly a medical professional and should be complimented.
Again, my thanks.
Special thank you to the nursing staff especially Kelly, Nadia, Pooja, and so many other nurses, who took such special care of me during my stay at the Elms. I would like to mention the quality of care from all the aides, daytime as well as nights. They were caring and were able to give the exact amount of “TLC” during my care. I met many Physical Therapists and Occupational Therapists all who were exceptional in giving me a plan of recovery. Special shout-out to Alex and Amid for their kindness and care. The treatment was outstanding during all of the 21 days of my stay. I was especially happy to eat in the dining room on any daily basis, with my roommate, Miss Jane. We met many short term residents that we had many a meal conversations with and enjoyed lunches and dinners. We enjoyed talking to Danny and of course, Miss Jackie. She was so organized and each meal went off like clockwork.
The Elms of Cranbury is an outstanding facility for rehab and convalescent care. I would recommend The Elms of Cranbury to anyone who needs quality care.
I want to Thank You all for the level of service that is provided here at the Elms. I cannot think of a better place to Rehab. The culture here is one that is friendly and competent. The staff is just fabulous. I am so glad that I chose this place to do my Rehabilitation and Recovery. There are no complaints that I could even begin to think of. Obviously, you provide a perfect product.
How sad it is for me to leave the PT/OT Rehab unit. The care, dedication, devotion of the staff to meet and exceed my needs is absolutely phenomenal.
I cannot over emphasize my elation for the devotion of the staff’s attention in helping me come so very far in my progress towards an almost complete recovery. Only time will provide the complete recovery, but because of your sincere dedication and encouragement, I have faith that I will achieve my goal.
Once again, Thank You.
My mother had a recent stay at the Elms and I wanted to express how pleasant everything was. She especially liked the food.
In addition, we would like to commend the following people that helped her during her stay. This team is AWESOME!!! Regina-the best! Always helpful and pleasant! Jody-very nice and extremely caring! Marta-always pleasant and considerate! Esther-very sweet and always assisting! Evica-warm, friendly, and helpful!
Thank you so much!
Now that I am home and I hope that your whole staff has recovered from too much of me, I would like you to know what a marvelous experience I had at the Elms. I had never been in a facility such as yours, but, of course, I have read all the inspection reports on similar facilities in Monmouth County. I was at the Elms when you underwent the state inspection and I could have told them you were going to pass in advance.
I don’t know where to start in my praise of your incredible nurses: Jodi, Bonnie and others come to mind, plus of course, Stan the Man. In the kitchen, Jackie, Evelyn and Esther were always helpful, even when I was a pain in the neck. Of course, Meg is a saint. She enabled me to continue serving the people despite being very ill and institutionalized. I still cannot believe that I was re-elected in June, running my campaign from my room. On my last day, several people, including Dr. Nasra, told me I will never be forgotten at the Ems. I just hope that experience was a as positive for them as it was for me.
I would like to personally thank you for all the wonderful care my mother (Irene Lang) received during her recent extended rehab at The Elms. You were all wonderful and extremely caring. I would particularly like to extend my thanks to the pavilion second floor nurse Noreen. She has a very professional mannerism that was very much appreciated. She was also very helpful and kind during some very difficult times with my mother. The rehab my mother received with her new leg prosthesis by Liselle was also instrumental in her being able to gain the ability to walk again.
Thanks again for your caring staff.
Once again The Elms has come to our rescue. When my Mom, Adele Middleberg, was ready to be released from Robert Wood Johnson and needed rehab, there was only one place we wanted her to be and that was The Elms. Although a room was not available the day she was discharged, Mary-Beth worked with us to move her to The Elms a few days later as soon as a bed became available. No one was happier to be back at The Elms than my Mom. She immediately relaxed and began to improve daily.
Over the years we have been very involved with hospitals, rehab centers, nursing homes and assisted living facilities and never have we come across a place quite like The Elms. Special kudos this time around to Lisa who helped us with a roommate problem quickly and compassionately.
Thank you for making The Elms the special place that it is.
My husband Benjamin Collier stayed at the Elms for 3 weeks in January of 2006. Every Elms employee with whom we came in contact, from the nurses to the dietitians to the physical therapists, made his experience a pleasant one. Your staff ensured his comfort and treated him with respect. Every family member who visited (and enjoyed your delicious food) felt welcome.
Your reputation as a first class treatment facility is well-deserved.
